So the 2009 NHL entry draft is now over and we still haven't had many transactions yet. This doesn't mean that the discussions between GMs have stopped. Bob Gainey has not made his big splash yet and here are the recent rumors concerning the Montreal Canadiens.
According to La Presse's François Gagnon, Saku Koivu will still be a Habs because Bob Gainey was unable to obtain a number 1 center such as Vinny Lecavalier during the draft. Koivu is still the best center of the team and Bob Gainey will have to resign him. Koivu's agent believes that there is a possibility of getting a deal done before July 1st. Source

From the Ottawa Sun, it seems that the trade talks between the Lightnings and the Habs for Lecavalier have intensified. Sources say that the names from the Canadiens are Jaroslav Halak and Christopher Higgins. Source
