Canadiens Vs. Bruins 2009 Playoff Game 2

Montreal Lose 5-1 Against Boston

It was an ugly game to watch from a Habs fan point of view. The Canadiens didn't show up to play hockey. They were lazy and took really stupid penalties that cost us the game. We literally gave them the win. Our goaltender was weak and didn't do the important saves to keep us in the game. It was frustrating game to watch.

After the Bruins took the 2-0 lead, Kovalev scored again to cut the lead to 1. I said to myself, alright, we are back in the game and we might tie it again like in game 1! Nope, not this time. The bad penalties killed us before we even get any scoring chances. We needed Carey Price to make those saves for us at 2-1 and he didn't.

Other than Kovalev and Koivu, no one else showed up. It's a playoff game. Maxim Lapierre and Guillaume Latendresse were invisible. People say that their line is made to play in the playoffs., but we haven't seen them so far. What happened? Andrei and Sergei Kostitsyn also didn't do much again.

On top of that, the referees aren't on our side. They gave us 6 straight penalties! What the Hell? and none for the Bruins. I am not saying the the Habs didn't deserve them. Some of them, yes, but not all of them. It's the playoffs, the refs should just let the players play hockey. Not change the course of the game. At least if you are going call everything, do it for both teams. And when they finally gave a penalty to Lucic, it's too late, the game is already over.

Well, I am glad that the league decided to give a suspension to Lucic for that crosscheck right in Lapierre's head. By the way, Lucic always start shit around when the game is almost over. I think that only 1 game of suspension is not enough. If the NHL wants to eliminate these kind of events at the end of the game, they should suspend them much longer. One game isn't enough for a player to think twice before doing the same thing again.
