Steve Begin Traded to Dallas Stars

Steve Begin has been traded to the Dallas Stars. The Montreal Canadiens obtained in return the defenseman Doug Janik. Doug Janik measures 6'2 and weights 211 lb. In 13 games this season, he has 1 assist, taken 2 minutes of penalty and is a minus-2 player. He has a total of 159 games of experience in the NHL. Doug Janik was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in 1999 in the 2nd round, 55th overall but didn't play much with them. He was then traded to the Lightnings where he played most of his NHL games. Janik is expected to play with the Hamilton Bulldogs in the AHL. He has a salary of 500,000 this year.
